Mart ayı sonunda yaptığımız Fransa Gezisi‘nde Normandiya bölgesine gitmeye karar verdik. Normandiya dört bölgeye ayrılıyor, biz güney tarafını seçiyoruz. Paris‘ten yaklaşık üç saat süren yolculuk bizi yemyeşil köylerden geçiriyor. Yol boyunca geçtiğimiz köylerin hepsi Monet’nin tablosundan fırlamış gibi, bir an için şehir hayatını terk edip doğayla iç içe yaşama hissini uyandırıyor. Normandiya Fransa‘nın en yeşil bölgelerinden biri, la Normande dedikleri kahverengi üzeri beyaz benekli inekleri meşhur.
We decided to go to Normandy region in our France tour that we took at the end of March. Normandy is divided into 4 parts and we chose southern part. It took you 3 hours from Paris with a road full of green villages. During the journey, the villages that we passed were just like the ones in Monet’s paintings. You feel like you will leave everything behind and start living here for a while. Normandy is one the greenest areas of France, having famous cows white dotted on brown surface named la Normande.
Bizde bu sevimli inekleri, güzel kuzuları yol boyunca seyrediyoruz. Bu doğal ortamda yetişen hayvanların etide çok lezzetli oluyor. Bizim gittiğimiz Mont Saint Michel‘de med cezirden dolayı tuzlu olan otlaklarda yetişen kuzulara presale yani tuzlu deniyor, etinin lezzeti bir başka oluyor. Lezzetli olan sadece hayvanlar değil, doğal olarak bu bölgede üretilen tuzlu tereyağı ve süt. Evet süt çok önemli bir gelir kaynağı, Fransa‘nın en büyük süt ihtiyacı bu bölgeden karşılanıyor.
We watched all those cute cows and sheeps during our road. Those animals’ meat is also really delicious since they grew up in a natural environment. In Mont Saint Michel, the sheep that grew up on the salty sheep runs because of the tide are called presale, which means salty. Not only the animals but also the milk and salty butter are delicious here. The milk is a great source of income and nearly the biggest income of France is supported by here.
Bir çoğumuzun daha önce duymuş olduğu meşhur peynir çeşitleride Normandiya bölgesine ait… Mesela Camambert, Neufchatel gibi. Hep yemekten bahsetmek olmaz; cider denilen küçük elmalardan elde edilen şarap her yerde karşınıza çıkıyor, yollar elma bahçeleriye dolu.
Some of the cheese that we all heard of like Camambert or Neufchatel also belongs to Normandy. There are also lots of apple yards where they are used for wines called cider.
Burası öyle bir bölgeki bir çok empressiyonist sanatçıları, ünlü yazarları etkileyip ,ilham vermiş. Monet, Renoir, Turner, Courbert akla gelen bazı ressamlardan…Proust, Flaubert, Maupassant yazarlardan…
This region affected so many impressionist artists and famous writers like Monet, Renoir, Turnet, Proust, Flaubert or Maupassant…

Mont Saint Michel bir ada ve kıta Avrupası’ndaki en güçlü med cezire sahip olan bir ada. Normandiya‘daki en muhteşem görüntülerden birine sahip. Yılda üç milyon insan buraya ziyarete geliyor. Adanın tepesine kurulmuş olan Abbey ( kilise diyelim) inanılmaz güzellikte yapımı yüzyıllar sürüyor. Keşişlerin hac yeri. Mont St Michel‘e vardığınızda kiliseye çıkmak için daracık yollardan ve merdivenlerden çıkıyorsunuz.
Mont Saint Michel is an island and the island has the strongest tide in Europe. It has one of the best views in Normandy. 3 millions of people per year come to visit here. Abbey church is one of the greatest structures on the top of the island. It is the worship place for monks. You take the narrow streets and steps to take up to the church when you arrive at Mont St. Michel.
Burası küçük bir Norman köyü, eski evlerin bazıları günümüze kadar gelebilmiş. Adaki kuleler ve top yerleri gözünüzden kaçmıyor, bunlar yüzyıl savaşlarında İngilizlere karşı yapılmış. Yukarı kiliseye götüren yolu ister duvarların içinden ister dışından takip edebilirsiniz. Yukarı çıkan yol onikinci yüzyılda hacıların yoluymuş, şimdi ise burada çok sevimli kafeler, hediyelik dükkanları görüyorsunuz. Yukarı çıkmak yorucu olduğundan, aşağı inerken gözümüze kestirdiğimiz bir kafeye girip kendimize elmalı krep ve kahve söylüyoruz.
This is a little Norman village and some of the old houses did survive. You never miss the towers on the island that were built against England in Hundred Years War. You can follow the road up either inside or outside which takes you up to church. The up road was the road of the priests on 12th century and it is now full with pretty little cafés and souvenir shops. Since the climbing up is so tiring, on the way back down, we sat down at a café and ordered coffee and apple pancakes.
Yolculuğumuz sonuna gelirken ada hatırası olarak magnet alıyoruz.Normandiya Fransa‘nın en güzel bölgelerinden biri, sizinde mutlaka gelmenizi tavsiye ederim.
At the end of our journey, we took magnets as a memory. Normandy is one of the most beautiful places in France and you should come and visit here.
